Whitby Morrison, ice cream van, kiosk and machinery manufacturer, has begun to look overseas in order to beat the credit crunch.
The Crewe-based firm recently exhibited their wares at Intergelat 2009 – an ice cream convention in sunny Alicante, Spain.
According to the Crewe and Nantwich Guardian, whilst ice cream vans are commonplace on these shores, they are something of a novelty on the continent.
Stuart Whitby has noted that ‘Export sales over the last four years have highlighted that this is our key growth area’.
The firm’s trip to Spain was a success – they’ve already received orders from abroad, as well as enquires from places as far and wide as Canada and Syria.
