The end of ‘fully comp’ car insurance?

by Tim on August 8, 2008

Research undertaken by the British Insurance Brokers’ Association has shown that fully comprehensive motor insurance may be a thing of the past.

Hot Hatch InsurancePolicy features such as windscreen cover, courtesy cars and third-party insurance when driving other vehicles are becoming less and less common on fully comprehensive motor policies.

Chief executive of gocompare.com, Hayley Parsons, has claimed that due to comparison sites, ‘it is key for insurers to get near the top of the rankings on price and they can do that by slimming down the cover’.

It is often the case that customers are drawn in by cheaper insurance policies, when really they should be looking at the policy features that are provided for that price. It is important that a policy suits your needs, otherwise your motor insurance may cost you more in the long-run.
