Taxi firms in Edinburgh have installed chip and pin machines in their Taxis.The Deadline Press and Picture Agency has reported that Taxi firms in Edinburgh have installed chip and pin machines in much of their taxi fleet to help prevent customers running off without paying their fare.
John Cumming, from ConCab, who manufacture the chip and pin system has said, ‘It will be to he benefit of all customers, but particularly female passengers because they won’t have to go looking for a cash machine.’
So far the machines seem to be pleasing both customers and drivers and will no doubt become a staple in many taxi fleets.
