A ten-year-old penguin was abducted from Dublin zoo yesterday morning and later found strolling through the streets of Dublin.
It is thought that whoever decided to steal the penguin was doing so as a prank. However, those in charge at the zoo are yet to see the funny-side of the incident.
In fact the zoo has commented that the event was in no way amusing. Police are investigating the incident as a criminal matter.
It has been revealed by a cabbie that the thieves used his taxi as a getaway vehicle — who knows how carrying penguins in your cab effects your taxi insurance. The drivers states that he was hailed by a group of three men who claimed they had a rabbit in a bag.
Kelli, the abducted penguin, was in an agitated condition but has now settled down.
