A taxi driver based in High Wycombe has criticised the council after he was given a warning for leaving his public hire vehicle unattended whilst using nearby public toilets, thisislocallondon.co.uk reports.
According to the council, the taxi driver’s actions had caused a backlog of traffic.
The taxi driver, Mr Mohammed Saeed, believes the warning is ridiculous claiming ‘That warning will be on my file for three years … use a bit of common sense and talk to us instead of treating us like children.’
However, a spokesman for Wycombe District Council has stated that ‘it is an offense under s62 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 to leave a hackney cab unattended on a rank.’
According to the council, Mr Saeed’s vehicle led to a blockage that meant a hackney cab was blocking the road.
