Spray goes away

by Tim on September 2, 2008

A new type of HGV mudflap, named Spraydown, has been designed to reduce lorry spray in wet conditions.

Haulage InsuranceAny driver who has driven on a motorway in wet conditions will know how detrimental lorry spray can be to driver visibility.

Of course, the spray is also detrimental to lorry drivers and their fuel efficiency. The Spraydown mudflap aims to reduce drag caused by conventional mudflaps and improve fuel economy by around 2.3%, regardless of the weather.

Auto Express has reported that the product has been tested by the Transport Research Laboratory and has improved visibility for drivers following the HGV by up to 45%.

If you drive or own an HGV (whether it be one vehicle or a whole fleet) it is important that you have the appropriate type of HGV insurance, to protect your vehicles and yourself.
