News:lite has reported that Rinspeed have designed a ’shape-shifting’ high performance car.
The iChange (when will companies stop relentlessly placing rogue ‘i’s on the front of every new product name!?) is capable of 0-60mph in four seconds – quicker than a Ferrari F355 Spider – and offers something a Ferrari can’t: practicality.
The car has the ability to switch from a 1 seat sports car to a more family friendly 3 seater, at the touch of a button. The car has an electric engine, will release zero emissions and ignition will be controlled by using an iPhone – not much use if you don’t own one!
Frank Rinderknecht, the car’s designer, belives that the car has ‘brought the themes of versatility and continually changing energy demands to their logical conclusions.’
It’ll be interesting to see just how much the insurance premiums are on the iChange, if it makes it into production.
