High level of driving instructor fraud in West Yorkshire

by Tim on March 3, 2009

The Huddersfield Daily Examiner has reported that there are numerous unqualified drivers pretending to be fully qualified driving instructors in West Yorkshire.Driving Instructor InsuranceThe fraudsters offer driving lessons at a lower price in order to lure in their victims. Anyone who takes lessons with these unqualified instructors is unlikely to pass their test and these people are not trained in what new drivers need to know.

The DSA have launched an investigation in the area and with the aid of the Police are trying to find those trading unlawfully.

Of course, the offenders are not only committing fraud for claiming to be genuine instructors but are also driving uninsured (without driving instructor insurance), which is itself a serious crime.

Students can be guaranteed their instructor is genuine by asking for an ADI number or asking to see their instructor’s  green DSA badge.
