Free ‘b’ bus to be replaced with eco minibus

by Tim on May 24, 2010

The Cardiff Free ‘b’ bus, a service originally ran to offer senior citizens an easy way to get across central Cardiff without having to walk ,will be discontinued before the end of June.

The service came under much criticism when it was revealed that the buses had cost the council over £100 thousand and that those who may need to use the service — those incapable of walking through the city with ease — already had free bus service throughout the whole of Cardiff.

To replace the two bumble bee-like buses the council have proposed an electric minibus that could be used by the elderly and disabled to gain access to pedestrianised zones.

The minibus in question, will be backed by the Welsh Assembly Government, who are looking to promote energy efficient public transport.

If you currently own a minibus for hire and reward, or any other purpose, let Quotiva help you find minibus insurance — it’s one short form for multiple quotes.
