Any decent landlord will know that it can be a tough job. Any self-respecting tenant knows that for every good landlord there are probably 10 bad ones.
The Telegraph have recently ran a story on one of these bad landlords.
On finding that certain religious groups are exempt from paying the HMO license that most landlords play without any qualms, Mr Thomson decided that his tenants ought to pretend to be Mormons.
To give the air of authenticity, the landlord left religious literature around the flat, should a council inspector turn up.
His tenants are less than pleased, since they were told the the property had a full HMO licence. Unsurprisingly, Mr. Thompson was denied an HMO licence when he later applied.
