Some caravan sites are requesting that visitors replace their ageing tourer with a more recent model.
The BBC reports that site owners believe older caravans to be unsightly and an irritant to guests with newer ‘vans.
Understandably, many site residents are unhappy with site owners requests — caravans are expensive and replacing a fully working caravan (which must be bought from the site owner) appears to be an unnecessary cost.
The National Caravan Council, appears to have sided with the site owners, stating that ’site rents are quite low and parks need the sale of the caravans to make the business viable.’
There’s plenty of ways to spruce up an old caravan (other than a good clean)…flowers and micro-gardens are increasing in popularity year on year. A few potted plants by the door of your caravan can make all the difference.
