Caravan parts manufacturers unable to get credit cover?

by Tim on February 23, 2009

The Telegraph has reported that manufacturers in the caravan industry are struggling to find credit cover as premiums rise rapidly or are withdrawn completely.  Fears that the leisure industry will be the next sector to be hit hard by the recession are building as both Fleetwood and Atlas Holiday homes have appointed administrators.

Brokers are expected to raise the price of credit cover premiums by around 20% for firms that manufacture caravan fixtures and fittings.

With the number of new builds built falling due to the recession, suppliers are beggining to worry how to stay afloat in the current economic climate.

We can only hope that this dip in demand in short lived as the popularity of caravan and motorhome holidays in Britain is on the rise.

If you own caravan, it is important to find a caravan insurance policy that is right for you.
