As the winter months close in, caravanners have been urged to inspect their tyres to ensure they and other drivers are not at risk whilst on the road.
Protyre, have claimed that a large number of drivers are unaware that their tyres are worn or damaged.
If you do not use your caravan during the winter months, it is worth keeping it off the ground or if that’s not possible, moving it regularly, as otherwise tyre flat spots can occur.
The firm also recommend double checking your touring caravan insurance policy, as some policies require the caravan to be kept on registered sites, or wheel-locked.
If you do decide to use your caravan this winter, remember to check the tread depth and side walls of your tyres to ensure safety on your travels.
