A survey by YouGov questioning 2413 people in May 07 found that one in ten motorists could have invalid car insurance. An incredible 6% said they’d lied on purpose about even basic information like age and address. 3% failed to disclose things like previous driving convictions.
Here’s a list of no-no’s to watch out for:
- Lying: the price you pay is based on the information you give, but so is the validity of your contract.
- Forgetting changes to the status quo at renewal time – changes of job, increased mileage, garaging and so on.
- Medical conditions such as uncorrected eyesight.
- Modifications to the vehicle that aren’t disclosed.
